EDP is a global energy company, leading the in the areas of innovation, value and sustainability and the main entity responsible for producing, distributing and selling electricity and natural gas in Portugal. EDP Comercial is the company responsible for selling energy within the EDP Group and is also the company that promotes the event Client EDP 36, which gathered, in 2018, more than 500 guests – between employees, customers and partners. This event aimed at emphasizing the customer-centric culture as one of the main drivers of business transformation.

Within the scope of the event Client EDP  365, there was an opportunity to reveal one of the main and most advanced EDP stores, at Marquês do Pombal (Lisbon), to any of the participants through a remote visit with a unique and innovative technology.

Our Augmented and Mixed Reality solution allowed all interested participants to virtually visit the Marquês do Pombal EDP store at the event through the glasses Microsoft HoloLens. With these glasses every participant got the chance to freely navigate ad explore the interior of the real size virtual model of the physical store. This model was created in three dimensions and life-sized, being in every sense true to its original at Marquês do Pombal. The Microsoft HoloLens always allow the users to move free through the space, in this case able to avoid any present obstacles or even other participants.

With the developed solution, EDP has provided an opportunity for employees, customers and partners that participated at their event to know and explore one of its main stores without having to physically be there, especially relevant in the context of the event, while providing a unique and differentiating experience.
