Since 2019, NextReality has been working with the Champalimaud Foundation to transform cancer surgery using augmented and mixed reality tools.
The Breast 4.0 solution aims to superimpose exam results and 3D information from the patient’s torso, allowing a non-invasive real-time follow-up of the surgery by the surgeon.
This solution makes it possible to remotely load a 3D model created from magnetic resonance images of the tumor with images of the surface of the patient’s trunk obtained with a 3D scanner onto the Hololens augmented reality glasses, enabling the surgeon to align the model with the patient’s trunk, observing the “inside” of your body, namely the location of the tumour, its size and shape.

Hololens
The Microsoft Hololens is an mix reality device produced and sell by Microsoft. Through a transparent display and a set of optical and infrared sensors, it allows the user to visualize and interact with virtual 2D and 3D content placed in their physical space.
At NextReality, we have been working with the Hololens since 2016, having developed projects specifically designed for Hololens for sectors such as industry, health or events.
